The Happenings

hello all. hope you're enjoying the weather. it's sad that we get excited over low-40's weather and some rain, but c'est la vie, right? it's usually around february when a lot of folks get into a bit of a slump... maybe it's because we don't have vacation until may? hmm... here's to owning the slump. read on for your weekly focus digest.

1. focused prayer [2.10] transformation center @ 7pm :: we're getting together this tuesday for a focus prayer gathering. let's get together and cry out for our ministry as we ask God for us to be a part of something great for him. i'm convinced that prayer is an effective anti-slump since it's a great gift that allows us to get close to the Lord. see you there homies!
2. call + response film screening [2.11] 2140 kraus natural science building @ 7pm :: our church is hosting a screening of this documentary on human slavery in the world. check out more info on the film, call + response, here. this is indeed open for the whole church to attend and we're excited as we're being given such a huge opportunity to connect those concerned with issues of slavery and justice, topics very relevant to the nature of God. please use this opportunity to speak with and engage an incredible number of people of our community. holla!
   
3. focus community group [2.13] weatherstone clubhouse @ 7pm :: we're baaaaack to the clubhouse! both LIFE groups, 1 and 2, will come together for some joint focus worship. we haven't had a large group gathering for a while, so i'm pumped to see everyone. see you there.
4. sunday celebration [2.15] transformation center @ 9:30/11:30am :: to be honest, these last three sermons of the "rewired" series have been awesome for me as i'm in the middle of making some big decisions for my life. i'm looking forward to the upcoming sermon series called, "the examined life." the first part will be this coming sunday. goodtimes! see you at the celebraaaatttiooonnn.
5. experiencing missions [2.15] transformation center @ 2pm :: if you're interested in joining in on a missions trip or want to know more about the vision of missions through hmcc, go to the experiencing missions class by signing up here. please note that you must be a covenant-signing member to participate in this class.
